Early Pickup
Parents/guardians picking up a student prior to 2:15 p.m. must park in a designated parking space, i.e. NOT in the bus lane or along the yellow curbed fire lanes.
Parents are required to show an I.D. and must sign out their student(s) in the Main Office. Office staff will contact the teacher to dismiss the student to the Main Office, prepared to go home. In an effort to maintain an appropriate closure to the instructional day, early dismissal of students between 2:15 p.m. and 2:35 p.m. will not be permitted.
Children will be released to authorized people only.
Dismissal Routine Change
In order to change a student’s regular daily dismissal routine, (i.e. riding the bus, a different person picking student up), parent/guardian must contact the Main Office before 12:00 p.m.; office staff will verify student information, and communicate the routine change to the homeroom teacher.
Parent Pick-up (Kiss and Ride)
Student pickup will begin at 2:35 p.m. Parents who pick up students by car should drive to the back of the school and meet students at exit E-10. Parents may not enter the building to pick up children during regular dismissal time. Parents picking up students should not park along the fire lanes as indicated by the yellow curb. Cars illegally parked on the fire lane are subject to ticketing and/or towing by the Alexandria City Parking Enforcement.
Parents picking up their children from the Recreation Center may enter to sign out their children through the Recreation Center Entrance (E-12). Parents picking up their children from Campagna may sign out their children through exit E-7.
Parent Pick-up (Walkers)
Parents of students who walk should pick up students at E-1 and meet the students in the small courtyard to the left of the main entrance by the flagpole. Parents may not enter the building to pick up children during regular dismissal time. Students will exit the building through the appropriate location for parents to pick-up.
